Monographic
exhibition of Elián Stolarsky whose work is the product of a constant
investigation (or personal-emotional search) in which the artist is related to
her generational history, linked from multiple moments that she considers her
own: with her country of birth, Uruguay, and with the origin of their immigrant
relatives (Poles, Turks, Sephardim). The title is taken from the work of the
American historian and geographer David Lowenthal.

“Coloured” refers both to the
concept as well as the technique chosen in order to address those ideas.
Throughout colouring four layers (cmyk) I create the sensation of a 3d image. A
way to bring back to life, to keep it present. Millions of hand carved lines
that obsessively draw and re draw the same faces. As remembrances that keep
appearing; that are even similar to the ones of my family story.

photo an artificial three-dimensionality. The dismemberment of the elements
that build the image, allow me to understand, digest and relive that which is
